Add-ons
Add LoreOwl's Vault and Analytics to your engine's editor, and install vetted community add-ons.
Open Addons in the sidebar. Select an add-on, then install it for a project under Projects.
Install, update and turn off
Each project row shows the add-on's state and one main button: Install, Update, Restore or Turn on. The ⋯ menu has Turn off and Reinstall.
- LoreOwl tracks the files it installed. If you changed one, Update asks whether to keep your version.
- Restore puts back files that were changed or deleted.
- Turn off disables the add-on in the project and leaves its files on disk.
Vault
Browse your organization's vault inside the engine, add assets to the project, and update them when a new version is uploaded. Keep LoreOwl open while you use it. The add-on uses LoreOwl's sign-in.
| Godot | Unity | Unreal | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Open it from | The Vault tab next to the FileSystem dock | Window > LoreOwl > Vault | Window > LoreOwl Vault |
| Assets go to | res://imported/ | The open folder, or Assets/Imported | /Game/Imported |
| Needs | Turn it on in Project Settings > Plugins | Unity 2021.3 or later | Unreal 5.3 or later. Restart the editor after installing. |
Each asset has Add to project, Update to vN and a button to show it in the engine's file browser. In Unity, you can also drag an asset into any folder. Updating keeps every reference to the asset connected. The vault shows which projects use each asset.
Analytics
Adds the Analytics SDK so you can write your own events. Sessions and playtime work without it. Builds send data only when Analytics is on at build time. See Analytics SDK.

Task Manager
Turns TODO: comments into issues. It runs in LoreOwl, not in the engine. See
Issues.
Community add-ons
Community lists add-ons made by other people. LoreOwl checks each one and pins it to a tested version. The details show the author and the licence. LoreOwl lists only add-ons with permissive licences, such as MIT, Apache 2.0 and BSD.
| Engine | Add-ons |
|---|---|
| Godot | Aseprite Wizard, Beehave, Dialogue Manager, gdUnit4, Godot State Charts, GUT, Phantom Camera, SmartShape2D, Sound Manager |
| Unity | Graphy, In-game Debug Console, NaughtyAttributes, Runtime Inspector & Hierarchy, Simple File Browser, UniTask, VContainer |
| Unreal | Async Loading Screen, Flow Graph, Kawaii Physics |
Unreal community add-ons are built for specific engine versions. If none matches your project, the row says which versions are available.
Built into the engine
For Unreal, Built into the engine turns on plugins that ship with Unreal, such as Common UI,
StateTree, Modeling Tools and PCG. LoreOwl only switches them on in the .uproject file. It copies
nothing. Unreal 5.3 or later.
