LoreOwl

Store uploads

Upload a finished build to itch.io, Steam or the Epic Games Store.

Each store has a section in the project: Steam, itch.io and Epic Games Store. In each one, pick a build, select Upload and follow the progress under Output. History lists past uploads.

Uploading is separate from building. You can retry an upload, or send the same build to a second channel, without building again. LoreOwl warns you before it uploads a debug build.

To build and upload in one run, use a trigger.

itch.io

Owners only.

  1. Open Integrations, then itch.io.
  2. Enter your itch.io Username and API key. Select Get an API key if you need one. The key is shared by everyone in the organization.
  3. In the project's itch.io section, enter the itch.io game and the Channel.

LoreOwl uploads with butler.

Steam

  1. Open Integrations, then Steam.
  2. Point LoreOwl at steamcmd, or select Detect.
  3. Enter your Steam account name and select Save. LoreOwl never asks for your Steam password.
  4. Under Sign-in, run the command that LoreOwl shows in a terminal, then select Check sign-in.
  5. In the project's Steam section, enter the Steam App ID and, if you want, a branch.
  6. Under Depot mappings, select Add depot. Enter the Depot ID, the Files from build and the Destination in depot.

These project settings are saved on this computer. The upload shows on your app's builds page in Steamworks. Players do not get it until the build is live on a branch.

Epic Games Store

Owners only.

  1. Download BuildPatch Tool from the Epic Dev Portal, under Artifacts and Binaries, then Download Tool. It runs on Windows and macOS.
  2. Open Integrations, then Epic Games Store, and point LoreOwl at BuildPatch Tool.
  3. In the project's Epic Games Store section, enter the Epic organization ID, Product ID and Artifact ID.
  4. Enter the BuildPatch Tool client ID and BuildPatch Tool client secret.
  5. Enter the Launch executable and any Launch arguments.
  6. To make uploads live, turn on Make live in sandbox and enter the sandbox ID. Leave it empty to upload only.

Without a sandbox, the build stays under Inactive Binaries until you label it in the Epic Dev Portal. Only Windows and macOS builds can go live on the Epic Games Store.
