Automate builds
Start builds after a push or on a schedule, and run them on another computer.
Triggers
A trigger starts a build without you. Open Builds in a project, select Automate builds, then New trigger.
| Field | Choices |
|---|---|
| When | After every push to the project, Every day at a set time, or On an interval from 15 minutes to 30 days |
| Platform and Channel | The same as on the Builds tab |
| Build on | This machine, or A build machine |
| Pipeline options | The Builds tab options, plus the three store uploads |
Daily times use this computer's time zone. A trigger that builds on a build machine must upload the build somewhere, to your storage or to a store. Otherwise the build stays on that machine.
Build machines
A build machine is a computer that runs builds for your organization. It is the LoreOwl app with one setting on. There is nothing else to install.
- On the computer, open Settings, then Builds.
- Under Build machine, turn on Build for this organization.
- Enter a Name. Can build lists the engines this computer has.
A build machine:
- Takes one build at a time. For two builds at once, add a second machine.
- Checks for queued builds every 30 seconds.
- Gets the latest commit before it builds.
- Builds only projects that are already on that computer.
- Builds for Windows and Linux.
- Keeps engine licences on that computer. Unity builds use that computer's Unity sign-in.
Builds from build machines show under On build machines in History, as Waiting for a build machine, Building, Built or Cancelled. A failed build shows the end of its log.
