Wwise
Import vault audio into a Wwise project, and upload the sounds you select.
LoreOwl does the work for Wwise. The Wwise menu items open LoreOwl, and LoreOwl talks to your open project through the Wwise Authoring API. LoreOwl must be open and signed in.
Before you start
In Wwise, open Project > User Preferences and turn on Enable Wwise Authoring API. Keep the port at 8090.
Import
- Choose Extensions > LoreOwl > Browse the LoreOwl vault. The vault opens in LoreOwl.
- With your project open, WAV assets have an Import into Wwise button.
The sound goes under your selection in Wwise. The change is one undo step and is not saved for you.
Save in Wwise to keep it, or undo with Ctrl+Z.
Upload
- Select sounds or containers in Wwise.
- Choose Upload selection to LoreOwl. The menu item is also on the right-click menu.
- In LoreOwl, check the list and select Upload N sounds.
LoreOwl uploads the original WAV file behind each sound. A selection can hold up to 100 sounds.
Install
- Location:
%APPDATA%\Audiokinetic\Wwise\Add-ons\Commands\loreowl - Versions: Wwise 2024.1 and later. One install covers every version.
There is nothing to restart. If Wwise is open, LoreOwl reloads its menus for you.
Limits
- Wwise imports WAV files only. Other audio can be downloaded but not imported.
- LoreOwl connects on port 8090 only.
